Small Businesses
The Issue
Many entrepreneurs find gaining access to credit to start or grow their businesses challenging because they may have past credit problems, don’t have collateral, or have a limited financial track record. Self-Help provides loans to small business owners who may not be able to receive a loan from a traditional bank.
Who We Serve
Self-Help finances many types of business activity, including start-ups and acquisitions. However, we reserve the right to not make loans to businesses engaged in financing activities, speculative operations, and certain “sin” businesses.
What We Offer
We make loans ranging in size from a few thousand dollars to several million, depending on the project. Our loans are available to meet a variety of needs:
- Starting, buying or expanding a business
- Purchasing or constructing a building
- Buying equipment and machinery
- Providing working capital
- Buying inventory
