Delia Allen

Delia Allen purchased her newly constructed home through Self-Help’s first-time homebuyer program in 2005.  This single mother of one also worked with Self-Help Credit Union to obtain layered financing to buy the house, including low-interest and zero percent interest loans from Self-Help, the City of Durham, and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.  Delia works as a child development specialist, and is a North Carolina native.  Her daughter Erica is a 16 year-old high school student.  The house was built by Self-Help’s Community Development Corporation, and sold through its affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization program.
